a song we were singing in church, several times, i might add.. and this line really caught my attention. thus the thought: it seems like everything nowadays makes us want to become more independent, empowered people. Study hard! so you can earn to support yourself and your family. Go overseas! so you can learn to be independent. Pray that God will bless you and empower you to live a victorious life!
Well, maybe these aren't exactly wrong things to do. But knowing God (i believe) somehow doesn't make you more powerful or independent. Instead, as we get to know God, we become even more helplessly dependent. On Him, of course :)
